I'm the grown up version of ragazzo more likely Dinah :) This form just reminded me of the delicate little bleached casings (sans spikes) we used to find washed up on the beach as children.
Thanks Jack, it's 3 pieces of card glued together to make one long piece which I've concertina folded, cut the design out, then sewn along one open edge instead of through the folds as I usually do. I've been standing it on it's side and it looks more sculptural than when sitting flat on it's base. I'm finding lots of ways to utilize concertina folds :)
I like the way you've incorporated such a simple 'fastening'. I looks so seamless
ReplyDeleteA bit like me really Jac, seamless & simple - what you see is what you get :)
DeleteOh! I've just "got it." I read urchin as ragazzo, a puny street kid! It's a sea urchin.

DeleteGreat little book. Is it one piece of paper Rob?How did you discover the fold? Love the urchin name, looks like your cutter is working beautifully.
